With support from UNDP Afghanistan, the Green Kandahar Rehabilitation Organization (GKRO) is implementing the Community Kitchen Empowerment (CKE) project under the ABADEI Programme in Kandahar city and Shawalikot district. The project has established 15 community bakeries that provide fresh bread daily to 375 vulnerable households while creating income-generating opportunities for men and women, including widows. Alongside bread distribution, GKRO promotes PSEA awareness, social safeguards, and community engagement to strengthen resilience and food security in southern Afghanistan.
